The United Africans of Utah is a non-for-profit organization operating in the State of Utah. It is a 501 c(3) organization mainly consisting of residents of Utah.
Since 2004, UAU has been collaborating and implementing programs for African refugees and Nepal, Ukraine and Venezuela whose citizens arrived in Utah as refugees and asylum seekers more recently. Many of the African refugee community-based organizations were formed with our help and guidance. We are still assisting individuals, families, and organizations linking them to various resources, employment on case-by-case basis, juvenile assistance, etc. In our three programs, Karate, soccer and computer training outcomes have also seen great improvement amongst community dwellers in every aspect of human capacity development. With the RCBO grant from the Department of Refugee Services (DWS), our capacity has increased to serve these groups while at the same time extending support to newcomers (linkage to resources, juvenile justice, and small business support thru the African Chambers of Commence)
