The African Festival, organized by United Africans of Utah (UAU), is a vibrant celebration of African heritage designed to foster understanding among Utah’s diverse cultures. Beyond showcasing music, dance, art, and food, the festival serves a deeper purpose: educating African youth about their roots, connecting refugees, immigrants, and students, and promoting Africa’s rich cultural diversity. Together with UAU’s community programs—Computer Literacy Training, Youth Soccer, and Youth Karate—the festival strengthens identity, builds unity, and creates opportunities for growth. These initiatives empower refugee youth and families to feel connected, informed, and prepared for a successful future.
